Dr Ben Grodeck

Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Exeter

Ben is a postdoctoral researcher at The University of Exeter working with with Oliver Hauser & Christian Hilbe. He is joining the Economics Department at Purdue University as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Fall of 2025.  He completed his PhD in Economics at Monash University under the supervision of Erte Xiao, Lata Gangadharan, and Philip Grossman. His research interests lie in Experimental and Behavioural Economics, with a focus on the motivations of altruistic behaviour (specifically charitable giving), cooperation, and how morality (as well as other psychological factors) impact decision making and market efficiency. He also has an interest in Experimental Philosophy, specifically in the areas of Ethics and Population Ethics. He was formerly a Global Priorities fellow at the Forethought Foundation, and a member of the EPAC research group.
